"Des Cheveux et Des Poils", Paris I

Today we take you to visit the exhibition "Hair and Body Hair" at the Museum of Decorative Arts of the city of Paris !

I chose to go and visit this exhibition with my son and tell you about it because I love this type of concept... I find it great that we used a seemingly rather simple theme and maybe even a little naive as a gateway to then go and tackle much bigger and so interesting subjects!

Comparing, for example, the headdresses worn by the Kings of France with more modern male models, including punks and hipsters, is a fascinating experience, particularly for children who have the opportunity to observe the evolution masculinity over time.

The same goes for femininity, of course. As well as for the different perceptions that the times have made of brunettes...blonde...redheads... (Oh the joy of being a girl...!)

This exhibition also allows you to admire sumptuous creations made for photo shoots and fashion shows...

The exhibition ends with a few Afro hair models who are currently experiencing a real revolution. Current symbol of freedom and empowerment, we leave the room after a photo projection in tribute to Afro women and on the words of Solange Knowles "Don't Touch My Hair". It is indeed well summed up!

A word to the attention of families though, if the exhibition works in my opinion very well for children, be careful on the ground floor! Indeed, keep your little ones close to you because two very explicit paintings of an erect penis and the Origin of the World by Courbet are on display, not ultra ultra kids friendly!
