Oh (very) happy day !!! The "Basquiat x Warhol" four-handed exhibition at the Louis Vuitton Fondation has officially started ! Fan of Basquiat since forever, I am very excited to share this moment with my little boy !
The exhibition is massive ! 300 works are exhibited there, including 80 signed jointly by Basquiat and Warhol, making it the most important exhibition to date on these two artists.
Giant canvas, windows, plates, punching-balls, photos, videos, ... the works follow each other but are not alike.
FYI : You can find the "Jean Michel" and "Andy" sweatshirts on the Little Souvenir website ! #collaboration #butrealcrushthough
In short, we absolutely loved everything. Special mention for me for "Brown Spots", the portrait of Warhol by Basquiat represented in the shape of a banana and which made me laugh a lot. "Eiffel Tower" obviously too... but my list would be far too long.
Bby also adored everything and found many of his interests in the artworks : crabs, lobsters, sawfish, crocodiles, dogs, solar system, colors...
If, like me, you are fans of these artists, I cannot recommend one of my favorite films enough: "Basquiat" with the wonderful David Bowie in the role of Andy Warhol. A treasure !
